Saturday/Sunday25th - 26th June

My mission to explore the Southend Coastline led me to visit Thorpe Bay for the first time this weekend. Needless to say I was not dissapointed! We’ve experienced some amazing weather over the last few weeks and as you know I am forever chasing sunrise and sunsets -with that in mind I decided to explore Thorpe Bay whilst visiting Danielle & Steve.

Although I didn’t manage to capture a golden sunrise - I still managed to get a lovely soft pink sunrise across the estuary at low tide. Low tide creates some great opportunities for dramatic and atmospheric images - I hope to showcase more images throughout this season, although I’m happy with this one for now but excited to share more here or on Instagram soon.

The second image is one of my attempts at some street photography. Southend has some great characters/eclectic personalities and Jacob kindly posed for a few pics when I spotted him walking down the road on Saturday evening. Jacobs has a very striking look, which you cant ignore and luckily I had my camera in my bag-so I just asked if I could take a pic casually. Yes-I know quite random (but I have learnt to grab those opportunities when they present as a street photographer). Luckily he said yes (I’m harmless) and I managed to get a few pics. I’m pleased with the result of this one and so is Jacob thankfully-phew!

Thank you Jacob @hybridjacob (turns out hes a great performer-bass guitarist in a band) and modest as he never mentioned it when I took pics - I’m not surprised as he definitely has the look of a performer - check out his Instagram @electriccowboyclub_

I’m ready to explore further east along the coastline over summer-so keep a look out for my posts here or on Instagram.
